A fresh break
At the arrival of high temperature, everybody try to cool
down his boy with what he can.
Sea, forest, air conditioning,
everywhere which contains shade is searched but
I think that the most popular one is ice cream!
With the year new flavor were created
and now everybody can find a taste he will like.
You have now different type of ice cream,
some companies are well known for their ice cream

You can also find some call “Italian”
but usually the choices are basic in the shop:
 chocolate, vanilla, strawberry

But usually when people are outside
people prefer to buy in some specific shop
if the shop is big enough you will be able to have a large amount of choice:
straciatella, vanilla, chocolate, nutela, bueno, cookie, tiramisu, coffee, cinnamon,
coconut, caramel, crème brulee, praline, nuts…

Or for people who like fruit a lot of sorbet:
apple, melon, pineapple, cherry, banana,
lemon, fig, kiwi, raspberry, pear, watermelon…

For my experience of an ice cream eater Kalamata have good ice cream.
You can find every type of ice cream
and have a lot of ice cream shop.
Because I don’t like fruit I didn’t taste the sorbet
but I can tell you that the straciatella, notsiola( nut in Greek),
nutela, bueno and cookie are Amazing!
We can discuss about different flavor if we meet and exchange opinion.
See you soon with an ice cream in the hand!

                     ART COFFEE
You may have heard that famous phrase that almost every mother has said, "to play with the food, boy (a)." Apparently, the mother of the artist Giulia Bernardelli forgot to repeat the phrase during childhood the girl, now 27 and formed in the Academic of Fine Arts of Bologna. Giulia shows a unique spontaneity in their work.

Coffee seems to be one of its main breeding materials, but other foods also ended up getting into the game. In an interview with the Huffington Post, the artist says that "I never plan my work in advance ... For example, when I eat breakfast, I think of the nuances that could create the spill on the table."

The result of this technique is reflected in unique designs, motivated by time and with a level of detail that makes it hard to believe they were made only with coffee.

                                                             Animals in  Kalamata

Since i'm in Kalamata, i've notice that many cats and dogs hang around in the streets and belongs to nobody whereas there is lots of pets shops in all the city. Some of the dogs are wearing a medal around their neck, at the beggining I thought they was lost but i've learn that it just mean they have been sterilized by the municipality, in my opinion it's a good initiative and it would be a good thing if they could do the same for the cats who are more and more but who are also more fearful of the humans than the dogs. Everyday I see them trying to find food in the trashs, they are skinny and some of them look ill or wounded. I wander why there is no rescue center in the town to heal them and and help them to find a new family. Maybe cats are more independants but I think dogs would be more happy with food and hugs everyday.

Kalamata people :

As i arrived in Kalamata two weeks ago, i can easilier talk about people living in this city, at least, my impression about them.
Well, i don't know if it's because i'm new here in a great mood but i find most of Kalamata's inhabitants nice and helpful.
Whether it be volunteers who i'm working with, working people in shops, restaurants, bars or be it students or whatever, there is always someone to smile at you, to help in a shop because it's often all written in greek.
People often make an effort to speak to you in english when you're around discussing, to not let you lose the thread of the discussion. This is kind.

There is a cool mentality and a nice way of living.
For me it's a pleasure to be there and being a part of this volunteering adventure.
Being involved in the social life of Kalamata in order to make it a little bit better for some people as much is possible.

At that point, i believe that people here really deserve it.

Introduction of a volunteer in Kalamata

Hello, I'm Nuno Davide, 23 years old and I'm rom Portugal (Lisbon).
I arrived n Kalamata on the 6 November and my EVS will end on the 31 July.
I came to Greece to evolve in my artistic setting, earn english, gain experience in the working world, know the culture of Greece and know how to cook .lol
I am a guy who love to learn new things.
My life is an art, like painting and drawing. I like to listen to music of all style; I like sports, especially football, watching movies, going out to eat "Pita".
There are two things that are the most important for me in life: family and health, without these two you can not live.
I wan to find a bit of me n this new journey in my life. I hope to make my mark in Kalamata.
